In order to keep chaos to a minimum here at home, I have created a program we like to call, Mommy’s Mission Control or MMC  for short. It looks something like the photo below, only more complicated. Raising two pre-teen aliens requires lots of complicated technology, and cash!

We run a tight program much like NASA would in preparation for a launch. We got the launch pad, the rocket boosters, and enough tween fuel, in the form of attitude, to get us all the way to Mars, and back. It’s disturbing at best to watch two hormonally charged tweens go through the motions, enter Mission Control.
In order for Mom to have a little fun occasionally, I like to schedule myself for a launch. In order for me or the orbiter to leave the gravitational pull of her children, the earth, the Solid Rocket Boosters must operate along with the main engines for the first two minutes of flight. What a thrill!
My current plan is to venture out to Saturn for a mini-vacation.
Last July, 2011 was the final mission for the space shuttle. Mommies In Orbit will be grounded to Mission Control for quite some time, as we are just about to enter the teen orbit next year.
