Do you ever feel like cosmic rays are bombarding your brain? Especially after spending way too much time with your kids? Like Spring Break? Even a mere 2-day weekend? It’s called the tween stage for a reason. Not only are my kids becoming hormonally-disturbed, moody, feisty and testy, they are trying to form their own identity.

This task becomes perplexing because they can’t really “get away” unless their parents taxi them somewhere. They are too old for a “babysitter” and not quite old enough to stay on their own. So it’s back to square one. I’d like to say, “Bye- bye aliens,” and send them off in their own little space ship, but that’s not an option either. Maybe I should get a restraining order until they grow up!

Kids, I need a break!

It must be difficult being a kid these days. You have to pretty much be surrounded by chaperons anywhere you go. When I tell my kids that we had a park behind our house and we could come and go as we pleased, they glare at me in disbelief. I guess we’re stuck with one another for a few more years. And since cosmic rays are  energetically charged subatomic particles, you can imagine what it’s like to deal with two of them the same age. LOL!
