Business Lessons We Learned From Our Moms

Being a mom, you know the challenge that comes with raising a child (or several). You have to juggle meals, homework, extracurricular activities — and on top of all of that, ensure you’re teaching your child how to be self-sufficient, a good person, and succeed in the real world. Let’s just say, Mother’s Day should be more than one day!

But we can’t forget all of the lessons we learned from our moms, that we pass down to our own children. These lessons go beyond learning how to have manners and clean up our rooms. Whether you realized it or not, your mom likely taught you valuable business skills including negotiation skills, cooperation, determination and how to handle rejection.

From CEOs to small shop owners, business owners around the world credit much of their success to the women who raised them. Some thank their mothers for the way they challenged them or for how their mothers led by example, but almost all of them thank their moms for their unwavering support. In fact, many famous millionaires like Elon Musk, Richard Branson, and Sheryl Sandberg, credit their moms for their success. Below are some of the valuable business lessons we learned from our moms.
