Do you ever get the feeling that your kids are “flying together in a disciplined, synchronized manner?”
I don’t mean the kind of discipline parents crave or the kind psychologists talk about. I’m referring to a general lack of discipline whereby kids hover side by side, out of control, while orbiting around the Mothership to the point of either agitation or claustrophobia. Wherever I go, there they are, in unison, synchronized.

An artist’s depiction of the GRAIL twins (Ebb and Flow) in lunar orbit.

There are many days when I’ve thought to myself, “Gee I’d like to send those two to a lunar orbit!” Kinda like the GRAIL twins featured in the photo above. Yep, put them both on the launch pad, countdown, three, two, one………….blast off!

I always wanted to be an astronaut when I was a kid, but since becoming a parent, it’s become more of a necessity than a childhood dream. Watching space shows repeatedly on the Science Channel has not only become an addiction but also an opportunity to educate myself in order to gain the knowledge needed in order to, flee the planet! Surely they must need supplies at the International Space Station.

I don’t think they would even know I’m gone. After all they don’t hear me when I talk. “Huh, did you say something, Mom?”  I could actually get all decked out in my space suit and head for the rocket launch pad before they knew anything was up. It’s worth a try. Remember when you look up into the dark skies on a clear night you just may see me, happily flying in my very own, kid-free peaceful orbit!
