I was under the impression that when kids were doing their homework, there should be silence. Not so at our house. My kids find it necessary to babble, sing, dance, make strange animal sounds, and bicker. Since they are both in the same grade, in the same class, (brave, awesome teacher), they typically have the same homework. Sometimes they perform rap songs, as they are doing now.
Neither one of them has any sense of time. They are both shocked when I announce, “Hey kids, it’s close to bedtime!” In their minds they are thinking, wait a minute, didn’t I just get home from school? This type of thinking must be part of pre-teen brain development. Their brains are a work in progress. To be continued…..
“That doesn’t sound like school work to me, hmmm!” |
