Phil’s bride!
The Little Rodent!!!

Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, so we can expect an early spring! Well, that’s good news after the cold and icy winter we had in the Midwest! But where does this little varmint get his information? Does he watch CNN from his burrow? Does he have an iPhone with a weather app? Does he peek out once in a while and check the temps?

Phil’s Underground Weather Station.
Phil’s Weather Map.

You gotta wonder how the critter comes up with his predictions? Perhaps he is much more sophisticated than we know. Just what does a groundhog burrow look like? Well I did some digging, (no pun intended), and look what I discovered.  This dude has a whole weather center underground, with huge monitors, computers, and even human assistants, it’s top notch!  No wonder he’s got such a smirk on his face!

You know Phil, there are a whole lot of people counting on your early Spring prediction. There are folks planning spring break, people anxious to get busy with their gardens and the wranglers want to play outside.  He claims he’s a member of the “National Weather Service,” so I have to take his word for it.

I must say I had a nice tour, Phil was actually quite pleasant, though when I got home, my family didn’t believe a word of it, hmmm wonder why?

They know Mommies In Orbit is quite whacked out some-days.
They just couldn’t believe I had met the real life Punxsutawney Phil.

Oh, well never mind them, from now on, this Mommy will keep some of her
adventures to herself.
