Hit the road Elf!!!
I feel barren.
Wait, is Christmas over?
Decorations stacked neatly!
Seems like just a few days ago there were quite a few packages under the Christmas tree and they have magically disappeared.  Christmas whizzed by this year, the shopping, the cooking, the boozing it up until the wee hours, decorating, it’s all over except for the pine needles. Looks like Aisle 4 at Target now. My friend, Elf on The Shelf and Jingle-bells, are tucked away  in the recycled Target bag, whew, that dude creeps me out.

The fireplace, where the stockings were hung with care, is back to normal. Little Dude’s tool set sits under the tree, unopened, he’s been warned, “Not to be used on the Toshiba Laptop,” even if it’s running slow.  Also waiting for LD is his brand new  Whiplash Scooter. The name really explains what happens after his first ride, OUCH!

Dear Daughter’s new, crisp art pad is       waiting to be filled with random drawings from her tween mind.  Christmas decorations are  thrown in a pile, neatly stacked just waiting to be placed  in those fancy plastic bins, uh,  maybe by April 2011.

Smart Border Collie, posed in her chair,  is not happy that I insisted on taking her photo, I’ll pay for that one. She has learned well from Dear Daughter how to punish Mommy. The Black Dog is still reporting in as  “Ready for anything.” This is his first Christmas with us, and he has already had the taste of one green and red ornament, says he won’t repeat that mistake again.

The only thing that has not been tucked away are the too numerous credit card bills that made all of the magic happen. The twins will return home tomorrow to begin their Merry Madness and take it right into the New Year. Wish me luck!
