OK, so this was not quite the way I planned my grand pool opening day. The water is green not turqoise as planned and the wranglers are both sick. Not to mention the sun never made an appearance at all today! You think I would have learned by now that things don’t always go as planned. Just ask my kids, they’ll tell you how ass-backwards my life has been.
I know, the pool water will eventually become turquoise, the kids will stop sneezing and spreading the evil germs, and the sun will return. It’s just that pool opening day is supposed to be fun-filled with margaritas and pinatas, and sunny. We have a freeze warning tomorrow night, it’s been a maddening wet spring.

I know, I want it when I want it. It’s called instant gratification. I should know better, those days are O-V-E-R! Once Mommies In Orbit became a twin Mommy, I literally flew right out of my orbit and have never returned. Having kids, for me especially after 40, yes OMG, has been an experience similar to ones I had way back in the 1970’s, say with Eric Clapton??
I had always heard that older parents have more patience, that’s never been the case for this chick. I’ve always felt that I’m much more like Darth Vader than Luke Skywalker.
It’s been a typical Monday, only with a twist. If I could just wave my lightsaber and cure my kids from the bug of the week, I would be relieved. In the meantime, we’ll hope for the best and bet that the sun will shine tomorrow.
