Where are we going to ship our kids off to this Summer? Has anyone give that a thought? I’m all for outsourcing kid activities to someone who can keep two preteens busy for 2 1/2 months!  We don’t do summer camps anymore, there are no crops to harvest and they are too young to drive. So what’s a parent to do?

I’m all for hiring someone to entertain Rocket Boy and Channel Chick. I’m sure there are some really good outsourcing firms out there to do the dirty work, plan some wholesome summer activities for our kids. If I Google, “outsource kid activities,” I’m sure I’ll come up with thousands of hits.

My kids tend to hover around me when they’re bored. I strongly feel that hovering should be outlawed. It’s claustrophobic, irritating and just plain noisy. After the family vacation is over and we orbit right into the heat of July, we are all pickled in chlorine from too much pool time, the water blasters sit idle, and Mom’s Prozac dose is at an all time high.

It’s time to go back to school! But it’s not, we still have weeks to go. I could call 1-800-OUT-SOURCE, and find out if they offer any lengthy trips to far-a-way places, like maybe Saturn or Mars or some place they can learn about Black Holes and how they suck in anything rotating around them. Nice thought, huh?

But what if there aren’t any upcoming space trips available? What then? Hovering and bickering? Oh My!
