Do your kids come up with crazy random thoughts that are out of this orbit? I realize it’s part of the whole process of them trying to become human beings. LOL! Some of the things I’ve overheard! Where do these random thoughts come from? Here’s an EEG brain wave scan of someone who is deeply hypnotized. Look familiar?
The Tween Brain. |
Channel Chick’s brain scan goes completely out of whack and off the charts when we drive by the Mall. Rocket Boy’s scan is fairly typical of an eleven year old boy, until his thoughts are jolted into the red zone by the newest game system or super-fast motorized scooter, that screams….. EMERGENCY room visit.
I told them please, put a leash on your thoughts, they looked at me like I was nuts. Their imaginations run wild, like the wildebeasts on the plains. They have to be reeled in every once in a while. They plan elaborate vacations, like one minute we’re in Florida on a Disney slime cruise and the next moment, the entire family is jetting off to Africa on a $10,000 safari.
They are quite like aliens, given a chance they will take over the parental powers and run like hell with it. You want them to be creative thinkers, but at the same time, you want to keep them tethered to our planet. You could give them limits, but you know they’re gonna break them. Or you could just wire yourself up to the iPod with some awesome music and tune them out …… what’s a parent to do?
