Remember sanity? Depending upon how your life has progressed along, you most likely had a truck-load of sanity BK, that would be before kids.  You may have even had a reserve of the stuff, like a fine wine in a cellar, only brought out on special occasions. What happened?

But now, if you’re like me, your numbers are running in the negative. Sanity. Do we ever get it back? What about when the kids are all-grown-up and have kids of their own, does sanity return? I happen to think sanity is over-rated. After living in a whirlwind the last 13 years with twins, I’ve actually gotten used to running a deficit! This is the “new normal” for Mommies In Orbit. There are all kinds of deficits that pop up after kids are born.

  1. SLEEP – this would be a big one, twins or not, when they’re up, you’re up.
  2. PRIVACY – when it’s gone, it’s gone, they know all of our hiding places.
  3. PHONE CALLS – this one is definitely over. If you want to have a non-interrupted phone call, get in your car, lock all the doors, and make sure there are no spare keys around.
  4. MONEY – specifically cash, it just disappears!
  5. CANDY- hoard it, hide it, eat it, you deserve it!

And the list goes on and on……..
