“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring–it was peace.”
― Milan Kundera
Dogs! I adore my dogs, my neighbor’s dogs and pretty much every dog I meet. WOOF! And cats too! Animals are just the very best of the best “kind of people” on this earth. They are beautiful, innocent, and give us unconditional love. They do not judge, and are always there for us in joy or sadness.
Dogs do not register complaints, nor do they leave our sides when we are sad and need a friend. I love it when they snore loudly and twitch their paws like they are running a race in their slumber. They beg relentlessly, with big brown eyes and moist noses that eventually tempt me to give in and share a tidbit with them.
When I take my dogs for car rides, they hang their heads out the windows, sniffing away, and I can’t help but smile when I see their cute faces in the rear-view mirror. Snuggling with Cody and Nikki helps to keep my stress levels under control. What better way to spend an evening than to be wedged between two furry, loving creatures watching my favorite TV show!
Dogs are the best medicine! How have your pets positively transformed your life?
I leave you with a quote from one of my favorite authors, Mark Twain.
“Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in.”
― Mark Twain

If it wasn’t for Willow and Putt-Putt, my husband I would never have met! I’d say that was a pretty big, but definitely for the better, change!
