If you been reading Mommies In Orbit for a while now, you know that I am the proud owner of preteen twins, and sometimes they really rock my orbit. Mostly I mean that in a good way, but there are those days when the solar flares bombard me one right after another, you know dual-fire emotional bursts!

Parenting, especially at mid-life is not at all what I expected. Somedays I feel like I’m running from one  fire to the next, dousing the flames. Me and the kids, who are  almost 12, are currently revolving round and round in the Middle School orbit. It’s demanding for them and super-maddening for me to watch this whole drama play out!

SO, I decided I needed to tap into the creative side of my brain in order to ease some of my Mommy stresses. I have re-discovered photography, love of my life.  Besides learning about all of the awesome stuff going on in outer space, like the black holes, the beautiful galaxies, and awesome asteroids, I see the landscape in photos. I will be posting a lot more photos here and there, in between the maddening blips about my hormonal kids.  Not to worry…. I will continue to offer lots of awesome giveaways featuring cash and prizes.

Besides Mommies In Orbit, I have recently started another website dedicated mainly to road trips and photos. In case you wish to check it out it’s called,  Over The Fence Photography, http://www.overthefencephotography.com  You know, what happens over the fence, stays over the fence.

At times, the photo-ops just present themselves without much effort. Other times, I have to work hard to capture that one particular photo that eludes me. Whatever happens, Mommies In Orbit, Raising Kids, One Orbit At A Time is here to stay. I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoy taking them.

  1. Kids should come with a money-back guarantee… Just kidding. I can relate to your post tho. Parents need time-for-themselves to, sometimes. Photography is a wonderful way to relax and be creative. For me it clears my head from the everyday work stress. Just bought a Nikon D5100 and I’m enjoying every moment when I’m alone with her… 😉
