My freedom is light years away!

When I signed on to be a Mom, I figured my life would change quite a bit,  but what I didn’t realize was that it would nearly spin out of control!  Entering into the parenting orbit is similar to watching a Supernova.  BANG, it’s the most powerful explosion in the universe!

It’s like one spectacular end to a brilliant and well-lived life, BK (before kids.) And then another life begins, AK (after kids.) These are two very different planets. The freedom you once cherished is gone, and so is your sanity. I had my kids much later in life than the norm, so I was used to coming and going as I pleased and then BAM, twins.

Being an amateur astronomer and all, I pretty much look at life in light years. You know, it’s a way to measure vast distances. A light year is the distance that light travels in 1 year.  or how about this definition:

A light year is 5,865,696,000,000 miles (9,460,800,000,000 kilometers). That’s a long way!

So this is about how long Mommies In Orbit has until she regains her freedom. Or maybe freedom will occur at about the same time as the next supernova! Whenever it comes, I’ll be ready.
