What a brilliant idea! Wouldn’t it be awesome to be able to travel either forward or backwards in time? Time travel is defined as a concept of moving between different points in time analogous to moving between different points in space, well at least that’s what Wikipedia says.
I prefer to not think about the actual definition of time travel and just experience it! There would be so many places to go. One of the first thoughts that pops into my head would be to re-visit the time when my, now pre-teens, were toddlers. Those particular times were filled with innocence and babble, the good kind!
Here’s a thought on how it would work:
Something to ponder: The fastest manned vehicle in history was Apollo 10. It reached 25,000mph. But to travel in time we’ll have to go more than 2,000 times faster. Stephen Hawking, http://www.dailymail.co.uk
If this is what time travel looks like, then I like it! |
Secondly, I don’t know about you, but I would time travel right through the teen years, as quickly as possible, thereby eliminating the need for gallons of vodka…. whipping through the driving, the dating, and all those high school antics.
I might even revisit my own high school years when tie-dye and Jimi Hendrix were popular. I know right, it was at least a century ago, buy hey, things were much simpler then. Life was much more colorful, if you will!!
I think time travelling into the way distant future might be scary, like monsters under the bed type of scary. Just enough curiosity to make you want to take a peek, but then once you did, you wish you didn’t. It’s so tempting.
But my favorite time travel expedition, and you know I’m gonna get all spacey on you, would be to travel to………………………Planet Jupiter! Yes, my hero, I totally embarrass my kids talking about it, but it’s true. If it weren’t for Jupiter deflecting all those asteroids and comets away from Planet Earth, we would be toast.
Think about time travel when you find yourself wishing you could be somewhere else. Who knows, it really may be possible.
