I’ve been told that some radio stations are playing Christmas music, already? I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready to be humming Jingle Bells. And I’m certainly not prepared for the creepy Elf On The Shelf dude to make his appearance on my mantel. Halloween was just one week ago! I still have pumpkins on the porch that are beginning to look a lot like some one’s Grandma who forgot to put in her dentures. Yikes!
I’m giving Santa his first warning, “Don’t push it!” I know, it’s probably not jolly Santa behind all of the premature merriment. It’s those greedy retailers trying to get a jump start on the holiday season. We still have leaves on the trees in the Midwest and are expecting thunderstorms tomorrow to the tune of seventy-two degrees!
We’re planning birthday parties this month for the wranglers! They are going to be eleven years old, and Mommies In Orbit is feeling like that giant Asteroid is banging on her door. I know I’m a pro at multitasking, but birthday shopping, cooking a splendid Thanksgiving dinner and putting up the Christmas tree is even too much for me.
The Black Dog and Smart Border Collie are not quite geared up for Santa either. They freak every time that dude tries to force himself down the chimney and they sure as heck have no patience for the reindeer tapping on the roof.
‘I’m not ready for the holidays, got that?” |
Let’s vote to put the holidays back into the months where they belong! Take it easy, there’s plenty of time for holiday merriment. Enjoy the last few weeks outdoors!
And watch out for the giant asteroid, it may be coming to a neighborhood near you!
“An asteroid the size of an aircraft carrier is to soar past the Earth this week and, while NASA is certain that the space rock will not hit us, it will be our closest encounter with such a large chunk of rock in three decades.”
