Please don’t go away summer! Though you’ve been hotter than hell this year, we don’t want you to go. Smart Border Collie loves romping around the pool daring us to splash her.
I can see the turquoise water from the kitchen window. It beckons me to leave the laundry and the housework, forget going to the gym today, grab a raft and float for a while.
Life is moving a lot faster now since the wranglers went back in school. It’s comparable to one of those fast German trains zipping through the countryside. But step outside, onto the deck and down the stairs, and the rippling blue water has a way of calming nerves.
I go through the same emotions every summer. Just thinking about closing the pool until next year is as painful as the aliens stepping off the bus on May 27th and announcing that summer break has begun.
So until the end of September, I’ll take the advice of my favorite sign, and Kick Back and Relax!

Hush it, you! Some of don't have pools… We only have beaches covered in seaweed! LOL I wish I did have a pool because we could keep it open practically all year! That would be nice.
