Road trip to Hermann, MO., back to my roots, beautiful river city town founded in 1837. My great-grandparents grew up here and raised a family. Should be an interesting trip, especially the wineries, LOL! I’ll be posting some photos later, and if the wranglers misbehave on our trip, I’ll be posting those two on Ebay, at a fair price, of course! Later!
Keeping the family together! |
So here we are back from our trip and I’d have to say, we had a pretty good time. We saw this sign when we crossed into the next county at a local gas and stop. I guess on Sundays they have a special for the whole family, an 18 pack LOL!
We walked down Main St., which is what you’re supposed to do in a small town, and had lunch at the local joint. Did some shopping, the wranglers and The Scientist went into an antique shop where they saw prominently placed on the shelves, stabbity dolls and scary clowns. They didn’t take any photos, so you’ll have to use your imagination, just do it in the daylight hours.

On our way there were farms and more farms and LOTS of corn. I did take some photos of the corn, I know, that’s really exciting, but it was kinda cool to peek up and down the rows. We thought about leaving Rocket Boy and Channel Chick there to play hide and seek while we went out for dinner and a beer, but that really wouldn’t be good parenting, now would it?
It’s corn on the cob, ya know? |
We did manage to stop at Stone Hill Winery, where I promptly raced to the tasting room to catch a mini-buzz before the kids got to the door. By this stage of the trip they were beginning to get on my nerves. Great wine and nice folks, I would really like to go there ALONE sometime!
This should last me until school starts on Wednesday! |
