Mother Nature is driving home a hard core message this week in the Midwest. She says she’s done tapping us on the shoulder with mild winters and little or no snowfall.  Our world is covered in freezing rain, sleet and ten inches of snow on the way. The pine-cone in the foreground made with peanut butter and bird seed is frozen to the core.  The pool equipment in the background is covered in ice and has no plans of being put to use anytime soon. This is the worst snowstorm for us Midwestern folks since 1982.
At the moment we have power and we hope it stays that way. Little Dude with the-not-so-white-socks is busy doing chores trying to earn money for his next electronic investment.  Channel Chick is happily glued to the television, remote in hand. Smart Border Collie and The Black Dog are on patrol for any food crumbs left by the cave people.

Mommies In Orbit will be taking time off from kid duty today. She will be sliding around in her slippers catching up with reading, blogging, cruising my favorite bloggers and not cooking anything substantial for dinner. Dear Husband will be wrangling with the cave people, keeping them busy and nourished with cheetos and granola bars. Mother Nature is dictating what us humans can do today and she means business, after all she is the Grand Mother of all.
I’m up for anything, anyone ready to play?
Wait, is that a crumb?
I won’t be performing any of these tasks today.
