Mommies In Orbits new home. |
Another bit of astronomical news for those of you looking for a new place to call home. Our favorite scientists have discovered that there are 50 billion planets in the Milky Way! And if you’re looking for immediate occupancy, we are told that at least 500 million ( I know, right), could be in the zone.
These results were gathered from NASA’s Kepler Telescope. So is there life on these other planets? Well they don’t say for sure. I know I’m asking. We are told that some of the planets are more hospitable than we originally thought, not too hot and then not too cold.
OK, that’s not much weather news to go on, but Spring Break is coming up and these kids will turn my Mommy days as I know them, upside down. I’m lining up for the first rocket ship, me and Black Dog and Smart Border Collie.
“Borucki says the new calculations lead to worlds of questions about life elsewhere in the cosmos. The next question is “Why haven’t they visited us?’
Take me to your leader! And the answer, “I don’t know,” Borucki said.
- Uh, did they get a glimpse of CNN news?
- Did they see enough of Mr. Beiber and Ms. GAGA?
- Did they see our hair-do’s and clothing from the 1970’s?
- Have they seen Little Dude and Dear Daughter in action?
- Is it the beef in Taco Bell tacos that they didn’t approve of?
- Did Mark Twain advise them to just stay the hell away?
- Have they heard that K-Mart sucks!
- Do they not like Mr. Spongebob Squarepants?
- Are they frightened by the green little Android guy?
- Are they scared of Skinny Jeans, (I am)?
- Are they frightened of the “Soup Nazi” on Seinfeld?
- Did they watch too many Star Wars episodes?
- Are they just pissed at us for lurking around their world with the Kepler telescope?
Whatever the reason, it sounds as delicious as a martini to me! A couple of planets away from my kids. I will be totally removed from the bickerin’, yellin’, door slammin’, stompin’, and arrow flingin’!!! And when I want to get in touch with anyone, there are plenty of satellites sailing around to get a message delivered to the home people.
I’m thinkin’ livin’ in outer space will OKE-DOKEE!
