Warning, this post may get you dreaming about  warm breezes and poolside lounging.
OK, so winter has only been here since December 21st? Anyone else feeling like it’s been here forever? I get this, I’m not a winter person, no thanks, no skiing for me. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy the four seasons, I’d just like to tweak the duration on some of the seasons, mostly winter, shorter, please !!

It’s that time of year when sunshine comes at a premium price. The seasons all have their individual beauty. Wonder what makes us favor one or the other? I’m thinkin’ summer, when the outdoor world comes to life again.

The barefoot, tan, margarita in hand chick, well that would be me, at my best. Little Dude and Channel Chick (formerly known as Dear Daughter), also love the warm weather. They are both pool junkies. Most of the Summer they live in swim suits and goggles, glued to the top of their heads.  We can go through a gross (144) of popsicles in a week. I guess so, cause Mama ain’t cookin’. You know the ones with 99% food coloring, so the kids can have a different colored tongue everyday, which they really seem to enjoy.

Since we got our pool, it’s become the place to hang out. Yes, it’s a huge investment, but in the Midwest, it’s steamy for months and going to a public pool everyday isn’t really that appealing to Mom and Dad.  Since Dear Husband’s birthday is in April, instead of the usual shirt and tie,  he usually gets new pool toys and BBQ stuff, just a tease of what’s to come.
Yellow Canna flower.
Cinco de Mayo takes on a whole new meaning for celebrating since that is usually pool opening day. It’s exciting to peel off the Winter cover, filler up, add those magical chemicals and watch the water turn aqua before your eyes. I’m feeling better already!

Enjoy your favorite season whatever that may be, ’cause Mommies In Orbit will be dreaming of Summer.
