Bye Bye kids.

When I first heard the word cloud computing, I wasn’t quite sure what the definition was, but for some odd reason, I thought of it as a place to send the kids for a weekend and maybe the summer.  I can envision them being uploaded to the Cloud.  I discovered that in cloud computing there is a significant shift in the workload. The local computers no longer have to do all  the heavy lifting when it comes to taking all the crap, running all the applications. The cloud takes care of that for you. Just pay your monthly fee and it’s all up to the cloud. Sounds like a win-win situation!

Can they be turned into tiny bits of data? If you send the kids to the cloud, will they come back? Do you want them to come back? Can they just come back for visits? It sounds like it’s a safe place to send the cave people, high levels of security, reliability, great performance, what more could you ask for?

As an added bonus, I would have unlimited storage and I can access my kids from any computer that has an internet connection, so you see, we are always together. When I am ready for them to come home I can access them from my Android phone. If we have some flamin’ smart mouthin’ crap going on, POOF, back to the cloud you tiny bits of data.  It’s a great way for the kids to visit the out of town relatives, without the travel nightmares. If they have an internet connection, they can access them from the cloud.

I do sometimes worry that the cloud company I contract with may go out of business. How do I access the cave people? Are they gone forever in the cloud, am I putting my only kids in one basket? These are some serious questions you must ask yourself before you sign on with a company who will store your precious data.  Just think about it, sounds like the real deal to me!!
