If You Give A Mom A Day Off…….

A Mom relaxing!

Wow, if you give a Mom a day off, she will be thrilled. She will have a spring in her step as she goes out the door to her minivan. What will Mom do with her day off?

She will most likely head to the best shopping mall in town. While she’s there she won’t be visiting the kid’s department, she will take the time to look at what’s new for grown-ups. After all it’s been a while since she’s done any ME shopping.

She may have lunch at a sit-down restaurant, instead of the local fast food joint, where she again meets with the outstretched hand from the window,would you like any ketchup? After lunch she may go to the spa for some relaxation. Here she will most likely read Travel & Leisure magazines, instead of Highlights for kids. She may think about her kids from time to time, nothing lengthy.

After that, Mom may check in with her favorite stylist for a new “ME” look, no Supercuts here. Next! After her makeover and new “do” Mom may stop by the local coffeehouse for a java and a pastry. She won’t be stopping at Q.T. for a large Slurpee and a candy bar, sorry kids. After the coffee break, Mom may go to a movie, perhaps one that doesn’t require 3 -D glasses and boasts real people. She briefly thinks about her kids, but the thought passes quickly as she enjoys the movie.

New look for Mom.

After the movie, Mom may stop by an old friend’s house for some girl talk. This will be enjoyable because she won’t have to shush her little darlings during the entire visit. After that, Mom may decide she needs to come  home and greet her children as they step off the school bus. Sorry kids, no fresh-baked cookies today, Mom had a day off and revisited the past, (BK)…before kids. What’s for dinner Mom? How about some of those delicious meals that come in the little metal compartments, yeah, we love those Mom, and we love you too Mom!
