The St. Louis Pet Expo last Saturday was an awesome event. I was actually quite nervous about attending. I get really weepy when I see all those pets waiting for their forever homes. I have two wonderful adopted dogs at home and cherish my time with both of them.
Well it turned out that I was OK, my kids were with me and kept me focused on the good. Lots of folks brought their leashed and well behaved dogs, so I got to love on a lot of them. Then there was the Frisbee talent show featuring border collies and pit bulls, it was AMAZING! Those dogs jumped so high and were so focused, I wish I had 1/2 the concentration that they had.
It was really great to meet face to face with all of the dog rescue groups, vendors, people offering great products and services and of course the furry four legged creatures everywhere. I even saw the rescue group, who four years ago, introduced me to my black lab Cody, sweetest dog ever. We are joined at the hip!
There were treats for the dogs, t-shirts, dogs dressed up for Halloween, pet sitters, groomers, the list goes on and on. It was a great event and I plan on attending another one next year.
I also learned that people were open and willing to listen to me about my new pet related blog, Paws Of Wisdom, Paw-some Tips For A Happy Dog, come and check it out!
As I handed out my Paws of Wisdom business cards, I couldn’t help but wonder what kind of connections we could make as a team to help out all those pets needing forever homes.
It was a good day. When I got home smelling like I had indeed been hanging out with a pack of dogs and cats, my two dogs quickly sniffed and dismissed the whole thing, and then raced to the treat drawer!
