Remember the portal hole in the movie, “The Avengers?” You know, that magical or technological doorway in the sky? I’m thinking this may be a good time of year to utilize that escape route. I can already think of a couple of times while Black Friday shopping that I was tempted to just disappear.

For example, the check out line at my daughter’s favorite store(s), was so long, that by the time we reached the checkout counter, my fingers were numb from the excessive number of packages wrapped around my wrist and I was dying for a Starbucks coffee, just to make it to the next store.  And to top it off, the person in front of us was sneezing and hacking all over the place, with no GERMEX  in sight, I just wanted to jump ……. through the portal hole! At that point in time, you’re not thinking of the good deal you just snagged, it’s more like, OMG, I’m gonna be wretched sick for the holidays! HO, HO and HO!

Or how about when you find yourself circling the parking lot like a vulture while your preteen is listening to that awful stuff… they call music, in your car?  Sounds like the perfect “out” to me. As you are out shopping in the crowds you may want to consider wearing a full suit of armor for protection. This comes in handy while  you’re being shuffled along with the rest of the herd, preferably by Border Collies,  in places like Target or Wal-Mart. Be on the lookout  for the double wide, semi strollers and the over-sized purses coming right at ya.

We couldn’t believe this kid at Macy’s who was “pretend walking on a tightrope” in the aisle of Macy’s with her arms totally outstretched, at what must have measured 80 inches in length, whacking innocent shoppers in the head, time to look for the portal.

Don’t even get me started on Elf On The Shelf, that’s a whole story all by itself. Happy Holiday Shopping, and remember, there is always an escape route if you need one! Happy Jumping!
