Anyone HAD it already with summer break? I’m almost afraid to ask for fear of sounding like a freak. Yes, Mommies In Orbit is ready to pack up the wranglers and send them back to school!

A ten year old wolverine! X two.

No two situations are alike, so it’s difficult to share vodka bottles, miseries with other Moms around the neighborhood. Some have kids in high school, college, some are in preschool, and some are dreading the empty nest. Having two ten year old wolverines is a challenge.

They are not mature enough to stay home alone, especially together. That means that every little errand Mommy has to go on, the wild ones have to tag along. Yesterday coming home from skating I had just had it so I cranked up the Mommy minivan stereo and let it rip, Jason Aldean’s, My Kinda Party. Whatever they continued to fight about, well I never did hear it. When we pulled into the garage they just sat there buckled in their seats. Guess it was too much bass for them.

I’m not sure how much a parent is supposed to do to keep their offspring entertained. Is one activity a day enough? How much computer time is enough, maybe until their blink reflex is frozen, is that enough?  What about televsion, Channel Chick could watch the idiot box all day long without food or drink, is that OK?

Kids are way different creatures compared to when I was a kid. We literally got locked out of the house most of the day and came back home when the porchlight came on at night. If we were thirsty, we slurped a drink out of the hose. I guess our Moms fed us lunch, however I don’t remember.

Do I have to look like the scary Mommy in the picture every summer, or does it get better?

My summer break look! Like it?

Is it a crime to NOT know what to do with my kids everyday? Does that make me a bad Mommy?  Are we all just stuck in between orbits? Should I make meatloaf for dinner again?

Should I just get the game “Whac A Mole” and play to my heart’s content? IS there an answer for this middle aged, over the hill, Mom?
